All because of Betsy

Last night I sent an enormously desperate e-mail to my favourite bloggista (razorblonde.com) in which I asked her wether she could invite me to lookbook.nu. And - the sweet, happy soul she is - she did!!! I owe her a lot and I hope that (although I know it might not be this big of a deal) I will not disappoint her.
She is great, guys. Really.
Didn´t know which look to post first, so I went for one I liked over the last couple of months:
As you can see, I quickly added a Lookbook.nu button to this blog and it would mean a lot to me if any of you would leave a comment or even hype!
Tonight I am going out, guys - I will post a picture of my outfit in the next couple of days.
Lots of love ZiTA

Okay this is kind of strange

Just found out that one of my favourite bloggistas (bebe zeva) has a strong connection to my favourite band Vampire Weekend: the girl on their cover is her mom! Can you believe it? I can´t.

CHANEL "REMEMBER NOW" A SHORT FILM by KARL LAGERFELD Part 1

All my favourite models, dressed in chanel, dancing to Leigh Lezark´s music and Karl Lagerfeld as director - can it get any better?

Just a few tips for all those festival goers out there!

Now that the whole beatpatrol-feeling wore off (so sad), I am finally able to talk real stuff about it. It was my first festival, but definetly not my last. I guess that the reason why people love festivals so much is because they can feel the freedom of our parent´s generation. Honestly, at times it just felt so right to be able to talk to anybody you meet and that everybody (okay, maybe not those nasty thiefs - die in hell!) is friendly towards you. I met a lot of nice people - actually only guys ;) - and learned how to pee on a loo with no flush (maybe not the most enchanting experience of my whole life).
1. Take friends with you with whom you don´t expect to make out with - preferably of the gender you are not interested in (could be a hard one for all those bi-sexual, sorry peeps). Because then you will be able to talk with them afterwards about your great festival without feeling weird.
2. Don´t expect to shower everyday. At BP we had - luckily - a river next to us, but we could only use it on day one, because it started to rain afterwards. So, instead buy lots of mineralwater (preferably cheap) and wash yourself with it.
3. Buy chewing gum. You never know what might come or who. ;)
4. Always - ALWAYS - avoid going alone in the dark. It´s not only scary, but for sure dangerous. Drunken people only vomit, yes, but they like to do way more stupid things too. So, take that girl of yours and run off!
5. Take wellies with you - THIS IS ESSIENTAL. You will need them. And they have this Kate-Moss-Glastonbury vibe to them which makes it irresistible.
6. Buy good food. You´ll need a lot of nutrition, because you will dance a whole lot.
7. Consider leaving behind make-up: I did not and ended up with a not so waterproof mascara and a lost concealer. You will look good anyway. Okay, maybe not, but honestly noone really cares.

New Label Love

Visit http://www.steffenschraut.com/ - he is german and - gosh, this guys really knows what we want: things that make us sexy and keep us warm and stylish throughout the cold months.
This is his campaign for this winter.

Here you have last seasons:

Now, after a big, nutritous and comforting breakfast (soft boiled egg, yogurt with fruits and cereals, sugar melon and apple) I am off to go shopping - this girl right here is in need of a seriously sexy dress.

I SURVIVED BEATPATROL

Steve Aoki: I have never seen a guy screaming and jumping like he did. Enjoy
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_snoM4VkWAw

Also one of my new favourites: Stereo Heroes. Cool as hell
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AUZiuGOTm1w

OMG - Jesus Luz. He might not be a good dj, but he is such eye candy....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IcrBbrBFG0k

Guys, I am back. This probably was the coolest thing I have participated in since .... EVER!! To me, it was legendary.
Although my raincoat and my sweater were stolen and a junkie kind of harrassed me, it was enourmous fun. I danced 16 hours!!! I only ate cereals and began to drink beer at 12 o´clock. I went to a club wearing sneakers and hardly any make-up (and still managed to get hotty-hot with Mr. Senegal). I stood in the front line at nearly every dj I saw - especially Jesus Luz! He is sooooooo hot. Really. Go and see him - his music is okay, but his looks .... raaaaawr.
I guess that the best evening and night was on Saturday - TV Rock, Steve Aoki, Joachim Garraud. Danced until 6 in the morning and still felt perfectly alive.

HAPPY 100th Post EVERYONE!!!

Just setting the mood with listening to Alex Gaudino (My Destination - Beatpatrol 2010) - guys, I am really doing it - BEATPATROL - HERE I COME!

When it comes do dressing nicely at a festival, it is kinda hard. Because you can´t really dress up, because you live in a tent and are surrounded by dirt and drunken people. So I decided to do low-key and keep an eye on details: for instance, I put on my happiest nail polish shade (Steamy from Mac - hopefully the title sets the atmosphere for Beatpatrol raaaaaawr) have decided that I take my favorite waistcoat and hat with me.
Soo, another big question: how will things be AFTER the lifechanging experience of camping? Guess I won´t be posting for more than three days (severe hangover included), so you will have to wait for my resumé. Let´s hope for the best!!!
Anyways, I will dance my feet off, shake my hips away and (let´s sing it alltogether, girls) ...:
LAST NIGHT THE DJ SAVED MY LIFE!!

At the Vintage store

Pay a visit to: Lerchenfelderstraße/Neubaugasse - HUMANA.
http://www.humana.org/

This time I dedicated my time to LEATHER.
I found those three pieces and although I didn´t buy anything, I was delighted to find so many trendy pieces.
Never have been a great fan of this super-styled leather thingies, but those items were really cool and ´though they are quite old, super up-to-date.
May not seem too spectacular, but if I had taken a detail (stupid, stupid girl) then you could see that it is made from the lushest, lightest leather you can think of.

This is a black leather pencil skirt which was literally skin thight - I had problems while peeling it off me.

Yellow, baggy, high-waisted and made of genuine leather? Found those unique pants and had to try them on. If I could´ve thought of an occasion where I´d wear it, I would have bought it. Oh coulda, woulda, shoulda.

Okay, it might not be St. Trop, but...

Spent the day at Old Danube with my cousin K and my auntie F. Guess this is kinda family week.

Je t´adore, Brigitte

Though I can´t say that I love her nowadays (she was recently fined for expressing her opinion in a rassistic way and is in a relationship with a right wing chap - yikes), I am obsessed with her looks in the late 50s and throughout 60s. I think that she always knew how to look good, without making it seem as if she had spent zillions of time achieving her look.
Just take a look at the summer´s issue of french vogue, which has Kate Moss on its cover - she was styled as BB - lots of eyeliner, out-of-bed hairstyle, bathing suit, red lips and tanned skin. Although I am not quite sure wether I fancy Kate with that look, I find it kind of cool that Caroline Roitfeld and I share the same inspiration...
Lovely Brigitte at St. Tropez. Been there last week and I have to say that it is the most relaxed and down-to-earth place on the whole cote d´azur. If I had lots of money, I´d spent every summer at St. Trop.
Please take a look at her hairstyle - looooove it.

Hahaha, gosh how I adore Technicolor. The pic may be a bit over-sexed (again, who said that the fifties were conservative - just look at the vixens of this time - MM, BB, Sophia Loren...), but still it has BB on it and so I can´t help but love it.

Super-sweet outfit! This fall there´ll be lots of those kind of pants - which is great, because I think they really lengthen your legs if (that is a big, overly pronounced if) you wear the right shoes.
When it comes to fresh interpretations, the french always do best - for example my inspiration for this fall:

Isabel Marant - Fall/Winter 2010/11. Omg, those pants!!!! Those shoes!!! The oversized, striped pull-over! If I had Freja´s skinny legs, I would grab my money, go the next Isabel Marant shop and buy myself lots of her pants (have you seen those leather ones - fab, huh??)

This jacket BB wears also reminds me of Isabel Marant. I will definetly try a braided ponytail again. Last time I wore one... Huh, I guess I was eight years old or so... ;)

Other super-sexy-undone-yet-elegant hairstyles:

I have dreamt of having long, lush, beautifully coloured hair for a long time and now I have promised myself that I will go for a little change! This fall, I will dye my hair! This may not be huge news to you, but it is to me... I am not going for BB´s super blonde, but I am opting for a lighter, warmer colour than the one I have naturally. I want to have it done at the coiffeur, because I don´t really trust my mother once she has to perform serious chemical work... I will definetly post the result!

PS: Tomorrow evening I am off to the Beatpatrol festival and now my mind´s full with problems like "what do I take with me?" "will it rain?" "should I consider taking my boots with me?"... Who said that holidays were fun?? They are pure stress! ;)
Love, Zita

Family business

Take a look at my very talented cousins blog - http://lucywilhelm.blogspot.com/.
I am so proud of my beautiful cousin... Not just because she is family, but because her work is incredibly eclectic and just breathtaking.

Family rules!

Price upon request

You are catching me at an abnormal emotional state right now, maybe it is due to the book I am reading now (Leaving the World by Douglas Kennedy - omg, it is soooo sad) or the weather changing constantly - anyway, as I said, my emotions go up and down.
No, this is not going to be a four pages post about my PMS - so, don´t worry.
What makes me angry is something that can be said in three little words which - on their own don´t do any harm, but brought together can make me more furious than this big, green, muscly chap.

PRICE UPON REQUEST - it indicates a certain form of arrogance, at least this is how I find it. As if the designers didn´t bother to tell you how much their product costs - as if you are not worth to know. OK, maybe I am a bit tetchy about the topic, but honestly - do you think it is fair? To not know what does really awesome rings from the lovely Gaia Repossi (omg I so love her pieces) actually cost? Or those fab Zanotti´s for whom I´d kill?
Of course I know that the reason why the designers hide their prices is that they want the costumer to go and have a look for themselves. But still - it seems to tear me up.

Yours,
the angry ZiTa
One of Repossi´s pieces - I promise I´ll post something about here eclectic fashion sense soon.

Searching for Mr. Wrong

Having followed Carries lovelife over six seasons, I couldn´t help but wonder (ha, did anyone else but me get the joke??): is perfection really the key to a good relationship.
Yeah, I know - Carrie is not a real person, although I sometimes talk of her as if we were best friends (yep, I am a freak) and Mr. Big isn´t either, but I find that their story is kinda true. No, it is HONEST.
Of course, they play tricks on each other, they hide things, they have problems with opening up to each other (okay those problems only concern Mr. I can´t commit) and they cheat on each other (again, only Mr. Big). But they tell it - sometimes just after it happened, sometimes it takes a year or more. The total frankness of their love is - to my opinion - the reason why they end up with each other. They know - yeah, they KNOW - that they are meant for each other.
Some might say their love has had flaws. I totally agree on that, but I cannot see anything negative about that. How boring would a .ove be that doesn´t challenge you/makes you cry/laugh? Pretty damn tiring, I guess.
I often think of finding Mr. Wrong like sitting down in a comfortable chair. You know those perfect formed ones. But maybe - just maybe - the uncomfortable ones are those were we women want to sit out our lives.

Thursday 15 July 2010

With those I could touch Dirk Nowitzki´s head.

Bought those today - got them at the sales (only 48 euros yayyy). Guess they are the highest high heels I own. Thought they looked just like YSL Tribute´s.

I´m in love

with a coat -gotcha, huh? I found this wonderful sixties lamb fur coat in a vintage store on Neubaugasse. It offers everything from 60s - it holds millions of little treasures for those who take their time. Loved the skinny, timid salesman too.
The coat costs 140 €. Still not sure wether I should go for it, because I a) don´t have the money yet. b) don´t know wether this would really reflect my sense of style and c) am afraid that when I buy something this essential at a vintage store that it might fall apart ten seconds after I bought it...

Now, some pics from France.

Les pieds dans l´eau

Me in front of the very famous nicoise hotel "Negresco"
NEW HOME
Tee, skirt from Mango, sandals Pimkie, glasses Clubmaster RayBan and bag is vintage.
This pic was taken in Monaco - extremely rich people in an extremely delicate surrounding. Others may call it over-the-top, but - hey, I like it!
Tee from H&M, skirt from Zara, necklace Topshop, bag vintage and old, shabby flats from Paris;

Ya see what my inspiration was? No? Just think that I look like 10-year-old? Well, maybe, but when I got dressed I thought that it would be nice to do a little Grace Kelly - Revival - see: the up-do, make-up and this utterly arrogant yet disgusted look.
These pics were taken in St. Tropez - OMG this sounds soo jet-setty... Anyway, I wanted to look like Bardot in the 70s. Guess I just ended up looking like some hippie-girl with spasm disease (picture at right - wanted to look all flowy and fairy ;) )

Other pictures of my trip will follow soon.

An a(ussie)wesome fling

Last night, my girlfriends and I headed to the Film Festival which takes place in our city every summer. To be honest, we didn´t go there to watch Netrebko sing, but to eat fab food.
As we strolled about, drank Bowle, beer and wine, I started to catch the eye of a good-looking hunk with sensual lips and a wonderful skin tone. Sparkle sparkle, I love you.
I went to the australian food corner and decided wether I should go for a tuna steak, when suddenly Mr. Sparkle Eyes popped up right next to me. Well, we got to talk. But then - don´t ask me why - I thought that I should search my girlfriends.
Since a couple of days a guy - I guess he is a guy because I don´t expect a girl to act like that - phones me up at night and then is quiet. If you read this: please stop or start to talk!

Favorite Items DU JOUR

Hat from Samos(GR).
Bags from Humana shop. Love ´em.

I got stung

BTW: nail polish from H&M - found it with nylonkong, and am damn happy with it.

Hot in the City

Aloha to all the holiday-people out there!
Right now I am doing my nails and enjoying the silky lightness of my dark-blue kimono. Omg, guys, it´s holidays! Can´t believe it. I spent the last week swimming, lying in the sun, getting a tan and living on a diet of ice cream and greasy food in the evenings.
Thought, someóne might be interested to know my summer essentials:

NR 1: Panama hat - keeps the sun off your coloured hair and looks incredibly stylish

NR 2: Silk overall: I got mine from Zara - it is amazing when you are strolling around in the city...

NR 3: long, flowy hippie dress: makes you feel beautiful - and you don´t have to shave ;)

NR 4: Kombucha: it is a cooling, fermented drink and I couldn´t imagine life without it.

NR 5: Yogurt ice cream: hell you know why - don´t you?
