Now that the whole beatpatrol-feeling wore off (so sad), I am finally able to talk real stuff about it. It was my first festival, but definetly not my last. I guess that the reason why people love festivals so much is because they can feel the freedom of our parent´s generation. Honestly, at times it just felt so right to be able to talk to anybody you meet and that everybody (okay, maybe not those nasty thiefs - die in hell!) is friendly towards you. I met a lot of nice people - actually only guys ;) - and learned how to pee on a loo with no flush (maybe not the most enchanting experience of my whole life).
1. Take friends with you with whom you don´t expect to make out with - preferably of the gender you are not interested in (could be a hard one for all those bi-sexual, sorry peeps). Because then you will be able to talk with them afterwards about your great festival without feeling weird.
2. Don´t expect to shower everyday. At BP we had - luckily - a river next to us, but we could only use it on day one, because it started to rain afterwards. So, instead buy lots of mineralwater (preferably cheap) and wash yourself with it.
3. Buy chewing gum. You never know what might come or who. ;)
4. Always - ALWAYS - avoid going alone in the dark. It´s not only scary, but for sure dangerous. Drunken people only vomit, yes, but they like to do way more stupid things too. So, take that girl of yours and run off!
5. Take wellies with you - THIS IS ESSIENTAL. You will need them. And they have this Kate-Moss-Glastonbury vibe to them which makes it irresistible.
6. Buy good food. You´ll need a lot of nutrition, because you will dance a whole lot.
7. Consider leaving behind make-up: I did not and ended up with a not so waterproof mascara and a lost concealer. You will look good anyway. Okay, maybe not, but honestly noone really cares.
